AUSTRALIA
As in the USA, styles and regions can vary enormously. However, it is fair to say that, while few Australian Chardonnays have been built to last, old Semillons, Cabernet Sauvignons and Shirazes (and blends of the latter two) can be the longest-lived of all New-World wines.

UNITED STATES
The variation between producers' styles and between grape varieties makes it very difficult to generalize in the USA. And, of course, it is a huge country California is large and varied enough in itself to warrant an extensive vintage chart of its own. Even so, the following should provide useful guidelines for the more commonly seen wines. The ageability of all but a very few US wine is, as yet, unproven.

NEW ZEALAND
Reds here are still rarely built to keep successfully, but Chardonnays are already top-class and worth cellaring and Sauvignons last surprisingly well.

SOUTH AFRICA
Styles here are evolving so fast, and vary so much from producer to producer, that generalization is hard. The best reads seem able to age for a few years.
