In 1980 the Pavone family, which was involved in Chilean winemaking prior to 1960, returned and acquired a 400-ha (1,000-acre) vineyard estate in the Maipo Valley. The name Santa Ema was revived for the vineyard, and joint partnership with the La Playa export brand to produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, All but the Chardonnay are estate grown. |
