This family-owned estate in the Aconcagua Valley 150krn (93 miles) north of Santiago was founded in 1870 by Don Maximiano Errazuriz. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc dominate the 16-ha (40-acre) estate vineyard and produce wines such as the highly-regarded Maximiano Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon. Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and newer plantings of Merlot are grown on 69ha (170 acres) in the Maule Valley. French oak is used to mature the red wins. Annual output is 70,000 cases.
