Founded in 1883, this bodega is Chile's largest producer. Since the mid-1980s it has installed stainless steel fermenting tanks and French oak barrels. As well as the estate and cellars at Pirque in the Maipo Valley, Concha y Toro makes wine at several other places in central Chile and has vineyard holdings (300ha/750 acres) in Maipo, Rapel and Curico. Producing over 3 million cases a year, the company exports modestly priced wines under the Casillero del Diablo label and single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chatdonnay under the Marqu6s de Casa Concha label. Don Melchor is a limited volume, special Cabernet Sauvignon.
