This remarkable estate is regarded as a "first growth" among Vinho Verde quintas. Maria Herminia Paes planted 17ha (42 acres) of vines around her rambling 18th-century palace near Moncao, 4km (2.5 miles) south of the Spanish border. The wine is made entirely from (white) Alvarinho grapes, and is typically round with more body than most Vinhos Verdes.
