Wine In Restaurants

Some producers use agents who visit consumers and sell their wines, which are then dispatched by mail or carrier. This was and is traditional in parts of Bordeaux, especially the Libournais. Buying from these agents can be a good way of obtaining otherwise unknown wines from obscure chateaux. Be wary of dealers who offer to set up wine castings in your home or workplace. Their margins will be high, the quality often dubious, and it is hard to resist buying.
