This zone's five wine farms have vines on the red?granite slopes of Constantia Mountain. The vineyards enjoy a Mediterranean?style climate ? irrigation is unnecessary ?and benefit from the mountain's shade in the afternoon and from cool sea breezes. Constantia has mainly Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling for white wines, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz for reds. The Sauvignon Blanc is rich, unoaked (oaked versions are sometimes labelled Blanc Fum6), powerful but not overpowering.

The producers include Buitenverwachting (with an elegant Chardonnay), Groot Constantia and Klein Constantia (notable for Vin de Constance, a sweet Muscat reviving the tradition of Constantia wine, as well as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc).
